郷位置は千代川の支流に土師川があり、また智頭町の大字に埴師がみられることから、土師川流域が比定される。郷域は、中世期の金沢称名寺領「智（千）土師郷」の記録などから、土師川の上・中流一帯が想定値となる。(p603)
