「地名志料」は「新撰姓氏録」右京皇別下に見える「山上朝臣」（群書25）とあるいは関連あるかというが、詳細は不明。「地名辞書」は旧矢板村・泉村に比定する。現在の矢板市中央部に比定される。（p914）
