「日本地理志料」は近世の北浦荘の地である「網津、綱田、長浜、笠岩、戸口」にわたる地域を郷域とし、「地名辞書」も同じ地域にあたる「北浦の網津村、網田村」に比定しており、現在の宇土市西部に比定される。（p250）
