平安期に見える郷名。「和名抄」伊豆国田方郡十三郷の１つ。比定地は式内社軽野神社が現在の天城湯ヶ島町大字松ケ瀬字神田に鎮座することから、同地を中心とした現在の修繕町大字小立野・本立野付近から天城湯ヶ島町大字湯ヶ島にかけての狩野川流域一帯。
