現在の七尾市八田町も遺称地に含め、ともに古代の八田郷の郷名を継承すつと説かれているが（能登志徴・郷土辞彙）、八田町は、江曽町・飯川町と至近の距離に連なっており、むしろ能登郡越蘇郷の合意期に属した可能性が強い（日本地理志料）。(p906)
