現作東町川北の高本遺跡からは瓦・陶硯・倉庫群・「郡」銘墨書土器などが出土し、英多郡衙または郷の倉院と考えられるところから、郡名と同一名称を付す当郷の郷域もこの付近に比定されている。（p55）
