「日本地理志料」は「加無都之万」とよみ、上益城郡上島村（現嘉島町上島）を遺称地とし、隈荘と称する「上島、万瀬、下中間三邑」にわたる地域を郷域としている。また「地名辞書」はこの地を含む「上島村、大川村、六嘉村等」とし、現在の嘉島町域に比定している。（p176）
