郷域について「地名辞書」は「今宮郷村是なり、樋越の東にして、韮塚の西北とす」とあり、「日本地理志料」は現在、伊勢崎市上之宮長にある倭文神社は「延喜式」神名帳に見る倭文神社のことで、当郡はこの倭文神社を中心とした一帯に比定する。（p460）
