いまの七尾市の中心市街区の、特に西半部の御祓地区を郷域の中心とし、御祓川を挟んで東の八田郷と平行していたとする説（郷土辞彙）が妥当であり、加嶋津（香嶋津）も、当然現七尾港の一部に相当すると見なすべきである。(p246)
