緯度経度	35° 4' 16" 北, 135° 20' 36" 東

明確な郷域は不明だが、「地名辞書」には「今の福住村是なり、本郡（多紀郡）の東端にして分水嶺を以て船井村と相限り、西は宗部郷に接す」とあり、郷域の西部は中世の籾井荘になったという。（p1386）
