「地名辞書」「地理志料」は「雨ルウ」は「雨露」の誤りであり、「うろ」は「売（うる）」に近いので近世の売津村になったとして、現在の富津市売津・相川・不入斗・萩生・金谷・梨沢の一帯に比定。（p159）
